About the Texas Design

This Texas design brings together some of the state’s most recognizable cultural, industrial, and regional symbols — from the Longhorn and wide-open West Texas landscape to oil production, aerospace, bluebonnets, pickup-truck culture, and the Lone Star flag.

The warm desert tones, open highway, rugged mesas, and expansive sky reflect the scale and independence Texas is known for, while the rocket and pumpjack represent two industries that have helped shape the state’s modern identity. Bluebonnets soften the landscape with one of Texas’s most beloved natural symbols, while the pickup carrying the Texas flag adds a familiar sense of everyday Lone Star pride.

American Hometowns — 50 States Series

American Hometowns — 50 States Series is an original art collection created by artist Albert Takahashi, inspired by the places, memories, culture, and everyday symbols that make each American state feel like home.

Drawing inspiration from the timeless visual language of Japanese woodblock prints, each artwork reimagines a different state through a carefully composed mix of landscapes, landmarks, local culture, wildlife, industries, traditions, and familiar symbols of everyday life.

But American Hometowns is more than a collection of places.

It is about the feeling of belonging somewhere.
